Famous Hungarian Cynologists -- Lajos Abonyi, 1833-1898

1833-1898

"In his idealized novels and short stories he depicts the life of the people of the Great Plain. [This probably includes the animals, which I'm assuming would include the Kuvasz.]"

"The soil of his stories, his figures, the world of his thoughts, his feelings, all made of this land, breathe the scent of Hungarian land towards us, what was Hungarian and will remain Hungarian forever. That is why his works are not subject to passing fashions. We want to return to the ancient source, we will always return to Abonyi's writings.... " - wrote his publisher, János Révai Mór.
