This photo, taken in the 1930s in Hungary, shows a boy or young man with his dog. The dog appears to me to be a young Komondor, but it's the same general size and function of the Kuvasz. Compare them to the size of the bull, a full-grown Hungarian Gray. Imagine our Kuvasz protecting an entire herd of cattle this size. These photos below also show the size of the cattle our Kuvs were expected to protect. This is the environment that our Kuvasz were developed in.
This blog--Kuvasz History Klips--is meant to be a thread that readers can follow to see posts and links about the history of the Kuvasz, to be educational and also be helpful while doing their own research. Contact me at KuvaszKlips.Amy@gmail.com with photos, comments, questions.
